“ADAPTATION OF THESSALONIKI PORT AUTHORITY S.A. TO THE NEW SCHENGEN ENTRY-EXIT SYSTEM”

The port of Thessaloniki for over 2300 years is the most important port in Macedonia and has already begun to emerge as one of the most important ports in Southeastern Europe. Also located at the crossroads of land transport networks (EGNATIA & P.A.TH.E.) and pan-European corridors (X & IV), the port is an important maritime hub for the European Union, neighboring to the countries of Southeastern Europe and the Black Sea as well as the Maritime Border Crossing Point (BCP) of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki and the Region of Central Macedonia.

The Management of THPA SA, recognizing the many years of experience and specialization of our company’s executives, assigned to our company the responsibility of adapting the Maritime Border Crossing Points (BCP) of Thessaloniki’s Port to the new requirements of Regulation (EU) 2017/2226 for the implementation of the Entry-Exit System (EES) and at the same time, the planning from scratch of all the necessary infrastructures and operational procedures in order to promote the development course of THPA SA in parallel with the smooth operation of the Port.
